Astros' Jose Altuve joins elite MLB club with hit No. 2,500

Jose Altuve has added another remarkable accomplishment to his already-decorated MLB resume. The Houston Astros star reached 2,500 career hits Wednesday, putting his name alongside some of baseball’s most accomplished hitters. 

Altuve, who has spent his entire career in Houston, continues to climb the franchise and MLB record books while establishing himself as one of the defining players of his generation.

Jose Altuve joined elite company with his latest milestone

On Wednesday, Altuve became just the 103rd player in MLB history to reach 2,500 hits.

He joined Craig Biggio as just the second player in franchise history to reach the 2,500-hit mark, and he joined Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman as the only active players to reach the milestone.
