Brandon Aiyuk might still land with one of two desperate teams

Throughout the years, multiple NFL players have made headlines for their erratic off-field behavior.

Brandon Aiyuk burned all bridges with the San Francisco 49ers, reportedly not rehabbing the way he was supposed to, and then blasting the team on social media time and time again. The 49ers don't intend to play him ever again, and they've overhauled their wide receiver room to make sure they won't be in that position.

Other teams have also shut the door on the former All-Pro because of his concerning behavior. That said, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes someone might still be desperate enough to make a run at him at some point. 

Brandon Aiyuk may still be on the move

"If a team becomes desperate for wide receiver help, it can probably have San Francisco 49ers pass-catcher Brandon Aiyuk for next to nothing," Knox wrote. "The 49ers have made it clear that they're ready to move on from their former standout, and they've practically begged teams to take him off their hands all offseason. Potential Suitors: Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins."

Knox listed his potential trade value as a conditional 2027 seventh-round pick, meaning the 49ers would pretty much give him away for nothing. That's how ugly it's gotten. Nevertheless, this wouldn't be the first time a team has chosen to look the other way and ignore all the red flags in the interest of winning some games.

Demeanor aside, there are questions about whether Aiyuk can be the same star he was before the injury, given all the concerns regarding his recovery and how long it's been since he last played. He was on the Washington Commanders' radar before all the social media shenanigans, which included taking shots at former teammate and friend Jayden Daniels.

Barring a shocking turn of events, the Miami Dolphins won't be a contender this season. While a lack of playmaking talent in the wide receiver corps has plenty to do with that, adding Aiyuk to a young and rebuilding team might do more harm than good.

As for the Houston Texans, they traded for Kayshon Boutte in the wake of yet another injury, and it might be a while before Tank Dell is back. Nevertheless, unless someone else gets hurt, it's hard to believe they'll be desperate enough to pursue Aiyuk if someone else is available.
