Nick Saban has blunt assessment of Big Ten: 'Then nothing'

McAfee asked Saban about whether or not the SEC was getting deeper, and instead of answering directly, Saban fired a blunt shot at the Big Ten. 

“We’ve already got nine teams in the top-25,” Saban said. “It’s not like the Big Ten where there’s three good teams at the top and then nothing.”

Where SEC, Big Ten teams are ranked heading into Week 2

Going into Week 2, all of Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri are in the top 25 rankings. 

As for the Big Ten, they have Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, USC, Penn State, Washington and Iowa in the rankings right now. 

On the other hand, the Big Ten has the last three national champions with Michigan, Ohio State and Indiana from 2023 through 2025.

In Week 2, there is a massive SEC-Big Ten showdown with Ohio State and Texas facing off, so Saban's comments might be brought back to the forefront depending on how this game turns out.
