Caitlin Clark calls out reporter over Angel Reese question

Team USA won the FIBA World Cup gold medal with an undefeated tournament and a star-studded roster.

The roster was so deep that Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark wasn't even a starter, and neither was Angel Reese.

The two have starred in some epic battles on opposite ends of the court, and they were the first two players off the bench to lead the way with the second unit throughout the tournament.

That's why, given everything that has been speculated about their so-called beef and whatnot, Clark didn't appreciate it when a reporter asked her if they were friends now.

“We’ve always been friends, don’t try to do that,” Clark responded angrily (h/t Hoop Central). “Don’t try to do that.”

“Are you and (Angel Reese) friends now?”

Caitlin Clark: “We’ve always been friends. Don’t try to do that.”

Clark and Reese might not see eye to eye when they're competing against one another, but they've always had nothing but respect for each other in their post-game comments.

Even if they didn't get along, which, again, is just speculation, that's neither here nor there. That's only fuel for toxic narratives that have nothing to do with women's basketball; it's food for trolls.

Reese also shut down the rivalry narrative earlier in the tournament, adding that it was nice to develop on-court chemistry with her because they know they'll be Team USA teammates for a very long time.

Also, they already shared the court in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, so it's not like this was their first time as teammates.
