Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes provides update on his knee after win over Broncos

Patrick Mahomes didn't look rusty at all with the Kansas City Chiefs in the quarterback's return to the team. Mahomes was injured last December during the team's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and he's been dealing with a torn ACL and LCL injury all offseason.

In Monday's game against the Denver Broncos, Mahomes completed 15 of 27 passes for 184 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Chiefs convincingly won the game, 31-10.

So, how is Mahomes feeling, and how is his knee?

Patrick Mahomes says his knee feels 'normal'

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Mahomes was asked about how his knee feels. His answer shows that the injury is really behind him.

"I feel normal, actually," Mahomes said during the presser. "I mean, it's like a blessing and curse. You get sore everywhere else, because you haven't played football in so long. And so the leg is like the least of my worries right now. So I'm just excited to be out there and playing."

He added, "At the end of the day, you don't know until you get out there and play. I was able to go out there and play, and I feel good today. So, now it's about getting in the ice bath or whatever it takes to be ready for this Sunday night game."

That Sunday night game is the Chiefs up against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts fell in a 41-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last weekend in their season opener, so they'll be in it to win it, but so will Mahomes and the Chiefs.
