Paul George gets ripped by his former Clippers teammate

Paul George’s LA Clippers era is long over, but he still appears to have one ongoing feud from those days.

Former NBA big man Montrezl Harrell spoke this week in an interview with NBA writer Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. During the interview, Harrell was asked about the new Boston Celtics star George, who was briefly his teammate on the Clippers.

“I don’t make comments about that boy,” said Harrell of George. “Me and that boy don’t see eye-to-eye, and we ain’t on no terms, so I don’t make comments about him. Quite frankly, I don’t care.

“I stated that in the Tribune interview I did as well, regarding how me and him got into it in that bubble situation,” Harrell continued. “I feel like that had a strong trajectory on why the Clippers didn’t sign me back the following year, so I don’t make comments on him.

Harrell, 32, and George, 36, were teammates on the Clippers for just one season in 2019-20. But that was also the infamous Orlando bubble season in which the Clippers blew a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets during the second round of the playoffs.

In the middle of that playoff collapse, Harrell reportedly called out George during a heated in-game argument. Then after the season, Harrell left to sign with the rival Los Angeles Lakers in free agency (later suggesting that the Clippers did not want him back).

Harrell still clearly feels that George had something to do with pushing him off the Clippers. The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner Harrell also did indeed admit in an article for The Players Tribune a couple of years ago that he once threatened to knock out George.
