Caitlin Clark throws shade at Toronto's arena after win over Tempo

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever picked up things right where they left off before the FIBA World Cup.

Stephanie White's team didn't find much trouble getting past the Toronto Tempo, securing a 103-85 win up north Friday.

Clark was her usual self in this one, reaffirming his status as an MVP candidate by dropping 28 with six rebounds and 14 assists.

However, as much as she put on a show, she didn't think the stage met the standards. Following the game, the Iowa legend jokingly complained about the state of the Coca-Cola Coliseum, though she praised local fans for bringing in the heat.

"I think this is the first time I’ve played in an arena that has birds chirping. So congrats, Toronto, on that," the Fever star said. "Hopefully we get to play at Scotiabank the rest of the way. But the fans were amazing. Like, it’s been cool even when I watch them on TV. Like, every single night it seems like this place is packed. And the way Canada has just really rallied around this team and supported them. And, you know, even though they’re not making a playoff push right now, like, they’re still showing up and everybody has Tempo gear on and cheering them on and just really happy and proud of them."

Of course, this might not necessarily be a diss to the Tempo organization or the city of Toronto.

Perhaps it was her way of pressuring so that the Tempo can also play some home games in the Toronto Raptors' house and keep pushing the league forward.

Or maybe she's just become a little spoiled after watching multiple WNBA franchises switch venues and move to bigger arenas whenever she's in town.

Whatever the case, it's exciting to see the game grow and the league expand to other countries, and Canadian basketball fans have already proven to be extremely passionate.

The players and the fans deserve better, and hopefully they'll get to work on either moving the team to a more modern arena or fixing what must be fixed in the Coliseum.
