Dodgers' rookie Josue De Paula has made an immediate impact

Los Angeles Dodgers top prospect Josue De Paula has made an immediate impact.

De Paula was called up on Sept. 11. Across his first 10 MLB games, he is boasting a .286 batting average and a stellar .974 OPS with four extra-base hits, 10 walks and four strikeouts. He has shown elite plate discipline for a young hitter, sporting a .474 OBP.

He has quickly proven why he belongs in the big leagues.

The rookie made a fast ascent to MLB, skipping Triple-A following his dominant performance in Double-A. The designated hitter and left-fielder batted .303/.401/.547 with 37 doubles, 27 home runs and 104 RBI across 124 games.

Josue De Paula got called up from Double-A to the big leagues at 21 years.

Dodgers rookie Josue De Paula has provided clutch contributions

De Paula has also showcased raw power, hitting his first career major-league home run (three-run shot) two days after making his debut.

He has also provided the Dodgers with three multi-hit performances, and two of them came against the San Francisco Giants. On Sept. 18, he provided a clutch RBI double, going 2-for-3 in the team's 8-2 victory. On Sept. 20, he went 2-for-4 with a double to help the Dodgers complete the sweep of the Giants.

According to Katie Woo of the Athletic, his hitting tool has drawn comparisons to a former Dodger's prospect.

"He has excited evaluators throughout the organization, with one noting that De Paula has the Dodgers’ best pure hit tool since Corey Seager.''
