A’ja Wilson announced her presence before she ever touched a basketball on Thursday night.

Coming through a curtain outside the locker room, the four-time MVP ran directly into a production staffer and sent the woman tumbling to the floor. It was an accident, and Wilson stopped right away to make sure she was unhurt, but the moment still landed with a thud.

Nearby staff and players let out a shared “oooo” that has since carried the clip across social media.

At 6-foot-4, Wilson has spent her career treating the paint like open track, and defenders have long since learned to clear out. An unsuspecting crew member learned the same lesson on Thursday. The message was simple: Get off the tracks when the train is coming through.

The staffer was fine, and Wilson was only getting started. She finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists as the Aces rolled to a 100-82 win over the Mercury, closing the year at 31-13 and locking in the No. 3 seed for a first-round meeting with Indiana on Sunday.

The pregame stumble will live as a light viral aside from a long season. What followed on the floor was familiar Wilson — physical, efficient, and hard to slow once she gets moving.

Las Vegas will take that same force into the postseason after a statement road win in Phoenix.
