Giants' Malik Nabers shares massive injury update after concerning report

After New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers admitted that his right shoulder "popped out" and that he "just popped it back in" during the club's 28-6 loss at the Los Angeles Rams this past Monday night, an orthopedic sports surgeon suggested that Nabers' shoulder will be a problem throughout the rest of the season.

While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Nabers revealed that an X-ray of the shoulder showed "good" results.

"Yes, good results," Nabers said, per the Giants' website. "I'm out there. We're smiling. I'm out there playing, catching the ball. So, good results." 

Nabers added that he was "feeling good" and will "be fine" to play when the 1-1 Giants host the 0-2 Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday. 

The Giants may need Nabers to be more than "fine" after starting quarterback Jaxson Dart went down in Week 2 with a knee injury that will keep him out through at least the rest of the regular season. Big Blue is turning to backup Jameis Winston for the Titans game, and it's expected that Winston will look for Nabers early and often at MetLife Stadium.

"That was kind of like my first game playing with him this past Monday," Nabers said about Winston. "So, just trying to get a feel for him, trying to see how his ball spins, trying to see when he releases the ball, trying to see just where he puts the ball at. So, it's a work in progress...But I'm putting in extra work with him just to try to see what type of quarterback that he is and where he wants to place the ball. What is he reading? What does he feel? So, I'm just trying to just be able to adapt to what he sees. So, I'm just trying to do my best at that."

Nabers suffered a season-ending torn ACL and torn meniscus on Sept. 28, 2025, so he knows something about what Dart is going through this week. On Thursday, Nabers said he wants to be there for Dart like the signal-caller was there for the wideout last fall. 

"Takes a breath out of you for sure," Nabers acknowledged about the Dart injury. "Just feel for him. Like you said, I've been in that position too. So, I know what he's going through. I know what he's thinking."

Rumors about the Giants possibly trading for a quarterback will grow louder if Winston fails to connect with Nabers and other targets throughout the Week 3 matchup. As of Friday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Giants as 2.5-point home favorites over the Titans.
