Miami gets justified spot in top four of both polls

Ole Miss' 52-28 loss at Florida and Indiana's 29-23 win over Northwestern helped the Miami Hurricanes move up to fourth in both polls after they beat Central Michigan, 52-3, on Saturday. 

Miami moved up from sixth in the Associated Press Top 25 and fifth in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

Texas, Georgia and Notre Dame remain first through third in both polls ahead of Miami. Ole Miss fell five spots in the AP Top 25 and six in the AFCA Coaches Poll to 12th nationally. Indiana fell one spot in each poll. The Hoosiers are sixth in the AP Top 25 and fifth in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

Miami received 1,501 points and one first-place vote in the AP Top 25 and 1,569 points in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Third-ranked Notre Dame received 1,581 points in the AP Top 25 and 1,641 points in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Ohio State moved up to fourth in the AP Top 25 with 1,465 points. Indiana received 1,554 points in the AFCA Coaches Poll. 

SMU is the only other ACC team in the rankings. The Mustangs are 21st in the AP Top 25 with 246 points and 19th in the AFCA Coaches Poll with 327 points. SMU moved up one spot in the AP Top 25 and six in the AFCA Coaches Poll after beating Missouri State, 34-24.
