Case Keenum had perfect description of Ben Johnson after Bears' 'MNF' win

The Chicago Bears were without starting quarterback Caleb Williams and kept Tyson Bagent as the backup for "Monday Night Football," but it didn't matter.

The Bears, with veteran Case Keenum making his first start in over 1,000 days, stunned the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-7, at Soldier Field. Keenum's last start was in December 2023, but he looked as smooth as could be.

Keenum finished with a 24-of-34 clip for 247 yards with two passing touchdowns and an extra touchdown on the ground, as the Bears moved to 2-1.

After the game, Keenum had a perfect description for head coach Ben Johnson.

"Ben Johnson was cooking tonight. He was in his bag," Keenum said in the postgame interview with ESPN.

The Bears jumped out to a 7-0 lead with just over eight minutes left in the first quarter as Keenum hit Luther Burden III for a touchdown.

Then, in the third, Keenum connected on a 41-yard score to Kalif Raymond to make it 20-7, and the final touchdown came via a Keenum one-yard rush.

Will Case Keenum start again in Week 4?

With the way Keenum played, it might be hard for Ben Johnson and the Bears to go to Bagent.

Williams is expected to be out a bit longer. Bagent was cleared, but the Bears decided to start Keenum, as the former wasn't able to get a full run in before the game.

In Week 4, the Bears face the New York Jets, and we will see if Ben Johnson can keep "cooking" with Keenum as his starting QB.
