Stephanie White sends blunt message to doubters amid Fever's playoff run

The Indiana Fever absolutely had to focus for their Game 2 against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday, and they couldn't let the naysayers online and noise get in their way. That's the message Fever head coach Stephanie White sent before the game, and it certainly paid off.

The Fever entered Tuesday's game needing to win after their lopsided 102-85 loss in Game 1. Indiana answered in Game 2 with a strong win, 99-89. The game was at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in front of a local crowd, to make the win that much sweeter.

Right before the game, White spoke with reporters about her mindset and said that she was blocking out the noise on social media.

Stephanie White focused on Fever, not social media noise

Before Game 2, White was asked about star guard Caitlin Clark, who notched 27 points in the game, "sending shots back and forth" after the loss in Game 1, according to USA Today. Her answer is telling.

"We both understand that social media noise doesn't really have anything to do with what we do," she said right before Tuesday's game, according to USA Today. "I think the biggest thing for us is staying focused on our team and staying focused on what we can do to get better."

White also said that she understood the offensive problems they were having in Game 1.

"And yeah, I mean some of the offensive stuff wasn't working. But you know, sometimes you've got to get knocked in the mouth to figure things out," White said, reports USA Today. "All of those things can be true. And all those things can be true without there being a controversy."

That mindset worked, and the Fever have a win. Now, the series goes to Las Vegas for Game 3 on Thursday, set for Michelob ULTRA Arena.
