Mike McCarthy sheds light on heated moment with Aaron Rodgers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 2-2 after a 27-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

The Steelers took the lead in the first quarter, but the Browns led the rest of the way from the second quarter on, save for a brief time when the game was tied, to get their third win of the season.

In the first quarter, Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy were caught on camera in a heated exchange. Rodgers looked toward the sideline and appeared to tell McCarthy to "call it."

Cameras then caught McCarthy's reaction, and he appeared to mouth expletives.

Mike McCarthy expresses regret for tense moment

After the game, McCarthy addressed the viral exchange, and the Steelers coach ended with this: "I wish I wouldn't use those words."

Another video showed Rodgers getting upset on the sidelines with McCarthy.

Of course, the two know each other well from their time together with the Green Bay Packers.

However, 2026 has gotten off to a rough start for the Steelers, and the loss to the Browns was not promising, either.

Rodgers played well, finishing with 299 yards and three touchdowns, but the Browns were too much to overcome.

It will be interesting to see Rodgers' side of this interaction, but it figures to be a long week in Pittsburgh after another tough loss.
