From 1969-2017, the Milwaukee Brewers reached the Major League Baseball postseason just four times. Because of that, none of the franchise greats such as Robin Yount, Paul Molitor and Ryan Braun had a chance to make a real impact in multiple postseason appearances.
Since 2018, though, Milwaukee has missed the postseason just once (2022), paving the way for the up-and-coming players to make a name for themselves.
That has certainly happened in the previous two postseasons, and 22-year-old outfielder Jackson Chourio is making quite the name for himself when postseason play begins.
Chourio played the 14th postseason game of his young career on Sunday and added another incredible moment to his resume. Chourio delivered a two-run, walk-off single to give the Brewers a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres and, more importantly, a 2-0 series lead.
The walk-off came against Padres closer Mason Miller, one of the top closers in the entire league. For Chourio, the two-run single gave him 15 postseason RBI prior to turning 23, the second most in MLB history.
Additionally, Chourio delivered a game-tying home run in Game 1 of the series on Saturday, his fifth postseason homer. In just 14 games, the five postseason home runs are the most by any player in franchise history.

Some other stats to note are that Chourio is now tied with Kyle Schwarber and Juan Soto for the most postseason home runs prior to turning 23. Also, Chourio is just two RBI away from tying Andruw Jones (17) for the most postseason RBI before turning 23.
Milwaukee is guaranteed at least three more postseason games, but it is looking likely that it will advance to the NLCS for a second consecutive season and play more than just the three guaranteed games.

There is certainly an argument to be made that, despite just 14 postseason games played, Chourio is already the best postseason player in franchise history.
Each of the aforementioned Yount, Molitor and Braun have outstanding postseason numbers, but none have the overall body of work that Chourio has already established.
There could be arguments made for any of those four to be considered the top postseason player in franchise history. The way it's headed, though, Chourio will soon be taking full ownership of that title in the near future.
