Joe Mixon hasn't taken a snap in an NFL game since January 18, 2025, when he rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.
Injuries caused him to miss the entire 2025 season, and it was unclear whether he'd ever play another down in the NFL. Now, Mixon may have a chance to rejuvenate his career with a Super Bowl-contending team.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Mixon is expected to sign with the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Mixon visited with Seattle on Sunday, had a workout on Monday and impressed enough for the Seahawks to take a chance and bring him in.
Additionally, ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Mixon is expected to sign with Seattle's practice squad once he completes his medical exams.

Mixon is being brought to Seattle due to rookie Jadarian Price being placed on IR with a chest injury. Price had been the lead rusher for an offense that was struggling to get going in the ground game, making his injury a big blow.
With Mixon signing with the practice squad first rather than the active roster, it is likely that Seattle will want to double and triple-check that his conditioning and health are both where they need to be.
If he is healthy, he could certainly help the Seahawks offense, which ranks 13th in rushing yards per game (110.3) through five weeks. It will be interesting to see just how much of an impact he can make after nearly two years of not playing.
