Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry recently shared an honest opinion on Brandin Podziemski, who is entering his fourth year in the NBA.
The future Basketball Hall of Famer seems impressed by Podziemski’s physical improvement, but wants to see his teammate become more decisive on offense.
“Same player, same talent,” the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Curry said about Podziemski after the Warriors’ 104-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in a preseason game on Sunday at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, via Luca Evans of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Added Curry: “Just looks like, he’s in better shape. He looks like he’s a little stronger, little quicker. I know he’s very determined.”

The 38-year-old Curry is not going to be with Golden State forever, and someone will have to be the focal point of the team’s offense once he leaves the Warriors. Podziemski hasn’t really shown enough to warrant the label of becoming Curry’s successor, but he can at least help himself convince the Warriors to sign him to a huge contract extension with much better play in the coming 2026-27 NBA campaign.
The former Santa Clara Broncos star could be a free agent next summer if the Warriors don’t sign him to a new contract or pick up their team option on him.
Through three seasons with the Warriors, Podziemski has averaged 11.6 points on 45.2% shooting, 5. assists and 3.6 rebounds across 220 games.
