The Indiana Fever's season is over after falling to the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the WNBA playoffs. Now, players are giving their exit interviews, and one of them is star player Caitlin Clark.
During her exit interview, Clark opened up about Fever head coach Stephanie White. It's unknown if White will return to her head-coaching role next season, but either way, Clark is making it clear how she feels about the coach.
White has coached the Fever for four years, albeit not consecutively. She served as coach from 2015 to 2016 and again starting in 2025.
Clark did her exit interview Thursday, Oct. 8, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and sang the coach's praises.
"I really appreciate Steph," Clark said. "I like to say, the best job in women's basketball and possibly women's sports, getting to lead this franchise that has so much notoriety. But at the same time, it can come with some negatives, and people are going to criticize everything that you do, and that's just reality, and people expect greatness."
She added, "Personally, my relationship with Steph, she's somebody that's always supported me, and it's been really fun getting to play for her."
This season, White led the Fever to a franchise-record 28-16 regular-season record, which was a .636 winning percentage. Then, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Time will tell if White returns for the following year, but if she does, it appears she has a supporter in Clark.
