ESPN's 'College GameDay' to broadcast indoors due to Hurricane Isaias

It's Mother Nature vs. ESPN's "College GameDay," and let's just say, Mother Nature is winning. The popular ESPN program has announced that it's moving indoors on Saturday due to an impending weather event.

The upcoming pregame show is scheduled to happen at Alabama, and it's usually outside, of course, but because of the strong hurricane expected to hit the region in the coming days, ESPN is moving the program indoors.

Hurricane Isaias was upgraded to a Category 2 storm on Thursday evening. It's currently expected to make landfall on the coasts of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

ESPN's "College GameDay" is moving indoors ahead of Alabama's game

According to an announcement from ESPN, "GameDay" will take place inside Coleman Coliseum on Alabama's campus, and other than the venue change, it's expected to go on as usual.

Saturday's SEC game between Alabama and Georgia is still scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, but safety comes first, so the hurricane could obviously change that.

Alabama sent out a statement Wednesday night saying that "Alabama athletics continues to closely monitor the weather forecast ahead of Saturday's football game, with the safety and well-being of the student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans as our highest priority."

"We remain in close communication with the National Weather Service, the Southeastern Conference office and the University of Georgia as we observe conditions," they added. "At this time, kickoff remains scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. We continue to encourage fans to rely on official Alabama athletics and SEC channels for the latest information regarding Saturday's game."
