Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is trying to see the ball a little better next season.
The Toronto Blue Jays star Guerrero recently underwent laser eye surgery (LASIK). Laser Eye Center of Miami shared the news in a post to their Instagram page and revealed that Guerrero’s surgery was performed by Dr. Gabriel Lazcano, an ophthalmologist based in Miami, Fla.
Guerrero, 27, is coming off a very disappointing year with the Blue Jays. Over 144 games in 2026, the former MLB home runs leader Guerrero batted just .260 with nine home runs, 57 RBIs, and an ugly career-low OPS of .688.
With Guerrero struggling all year, Toronto as a team also sputtered. After very nearly winning the World Series in 2025, the Blue Jays went just 79-83 and missed the playoffs altogether.
Guerrero did not help his own cause either with some of his remarks to the media. Last month, Guerrero had to issue an apology after making some tone-deaf comments in response to his critics.
The six-time MLB All-Star Guerrero is on a whopping 14-year, $500 million contract with the Blue Jays that has him signed all the way until 2039. Now Guerrero is hoping that his corrective vision procedure will be the first step in getting himself back on track.
