Tensions flared during the third quarter of Saturday’s preseason game at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., between the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards, with Trae Young at the center of it.
As the Wizards were bringing the ball up the court, Young and Pistons guard Daniss Jenkins were seen having an exchange near the sidelines.
Young then shoved Jenkins, who retaliated with the same move. Play was immediately stopped, but Jenkins was apparently still heated and gave Young a push in the back as cooler heads tried to de-escalate the situation.
Young and Jenkins were eventually both tossed out of the court, as the refs decided they had seen enough of the shenanigans in what was essentially a meaningless preseason game.
Here is a video of that heated interaction between Young and Jenkins.

There wasn’t really a need for Young or Jenkins to get into it, but spontaneous moments like that are common in pro sports, regardless of what’s on the line.
Young hit the showers early with only two points on 1/4 shooting. He had eight assists, but turned the ball over five times in 23 minutes of action in a 114-108 overtime win by Washington.
Jenkins, on the other hand, had a much better performance than his counterpart, scoring 12 points on 4/6 shooting with four assists and only a turnover in 18 minutes.
The 28-year-old Young is preparing for his first full season with the Wizards after being traded by the Atlanta Hawks to Washington in January.
