John Mateer did his best Baker Mayfield impression after beating No. 1-ranked Texas on Saturday.

Mateer and the Oklahoma Sooners pulled off an upset 27-24 victory over the Longhorns in dramatic fashion. Oklahoma picked off Texas star quarterback Arch Manning during the final minute of the fourth quarter at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas and won the game on a 47-yard field goal by kicker Tate Sandell as time expired.

After the final whistle, the Sooners QB Mateer was seen in a viral video trolling Texas. Mateer waved around a large Oklahoma flag and dramatically planted it on the edge of the end zone.

The redshirt senior Mateer could also be seen turning and flashing the “Horns Down” sign to Longhorns players as they walked off the field. You can see the video at the link here.

Mateer, 22, did not even do a whole lot during Saturday’s game. He went 18/26 for a modest 155 passing yards and zero touchdowns.

But Mateer, who has been prone to turnovers throughout the season, kept the mistakes to a minimum and stayed out of the way otherwise. That was good enough for a stout Sooners defense and run game to carry them to an upset win over the top team in the country.
