Things are not going great for the Philadelphia sports scene at the moment.

The Carolina Hurricanes, after a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night, made sure to call special attention to it with a harsh yet factual social media troll job.

Hurricanes troll Philadelphia sports after another win over Flyers

The Hurricanes win on Sunday was already their second of the season over the Flyers, with both of them coming in Philadelphia.

Those games have been a part of the Flyers' 0-5-2 start to the season that might already be hurting their playoff chances, even if it is the first month of the season.

That prompted this post on X by the Hurricanes social media team.

We've won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month.

Harsh. But fair.

Just a quick recap of everything that has been happening in Philadelphia sports lately:

The Phillies were eliminated in the wild-card round of the National League playoffs, continuing what has been an underwhelming run of postseason appearances by this current core group of players led by Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto and Trea Turner.

The Eagles keep snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and find themselves at 2-3, driving their fans into madness, especially after Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Then there are the Flyers, who are not only 0-5-2, but they are also getting systematically dominated in every single game.

The sanity of the Philadelphia sports fans looks like it is going to rest entirely on the shoulders of Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers. They open their season in nine days.
