NFL Week 6 prime-time predictions: Will Broncos QB Bo Nix get back on track vs. Seahawks?

Each week, Yardbarker previews prime-time NFL games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights, predicting the result of each. Here are our Week 6 picks.

Thursday night: Seattle Seahawks (3-2) at Denver Broncos (3-2) (Prime Video, 8:15 p.m. ET)

Broncos fans want quarterback Bo Nix to play more aggressively after averaging a meager 5.8 yards per attempt in his first five starts, but he said he's reminding himself "not to play hero ball" against Seattle's "Dark Side" defense. That may be the right approach. The Seahawks have forced a league-leading 11 takeaways.

Seattle QB Sam Darnold, meanwhile, has been aggressive, averaging 7.7 yards per attempt. But he's consequently become turnover-prone, tossing five interceptions, tied for the third-most in the league.

Darnold said he's aiming to take better care of the football against Denver (seven takeaways), but the Seahawks run game (or lack thereof) may force him into more jams. Entering Week 6, Seattle ranks 17th in the league in rushing yards (106 YPG). Rookie running back Jadarian Price (chest) remains on injured reserve, while RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) isn't expected to return Thursday, per Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald.

With that in mind, this game could be a trench battle. (Luckily, both teams wearing their throwback uniforms will make it more watchable.) We'll give a slight edge to Denver, which is 2-0 at Empower Field at Mile High.

Prediction: Broncos, 21-20

Sunday night: Dallas Cowboys (2-3) at Green Bay Packers (3-2) (NBC, 8:20 p.m. ET)

Former Cowboys edge-rusher Micah Parsons (knee) won't play against his old team on Sunday as he recovers from a knee injury. Dallas may still remember why it misses him.

The Cowboys rank 25th in points surrendered (27.2 PPG). Dallas hired former Cleveland Browns HC Mike Pettine to assist rookie defensive coordinator Christian Parker. Pettine mentored Parker during his tenure with the Packers (2019-20), but he shouldn't make much of an impact in his first week.

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. should return after missing Week 5 with an illness, but the Cowboys secondary remains injury-riddled. CB Cobie Durant (hamstring) and safety Alijah Clark (hamstring) are listed as questionable.

Packers QB Jordan Love, who has been on a hot streak, should pick apart the Dallas defense. Over his past two games, the Packer has completed a stellar 77 percent of his passes for 564 yards and four TDs, tossing just one interception.

Prediction: Packers, 29-27

Monday night: Washington Commanders (1-3-1) at San Francisco 49ers (5-0) (ABC/ESPN, 8:15 p.m. ET).

The Commanders shouldn't have to worry about botching clock management as they did in a 27-27 overtime game in Week 5 against the New York Giants. Monday's matchup shouldn't be as close.

As of Wednesday, DraftKings Sportsbook lists the 49ers as a 7.5-point favorite in their home game. With QB Brock Purdy playing like an MVP candidate, San Francisco should start 6-0 for the first time since 2019.

Purdy leads the league in TD passes (13) and QBR (85.5). He should shred Washington's 29th-ranked passing defense (255 YPG).

Prediction: 49ers, 30-20
