NFL Week 6 winners, losers: Caleb Williams shines, Los Angeles football is a mess

It is time to take a look at some of the biggest winners and losers from Sunday's NFL Week 6 action.

Caleb Williams made a big return for the Chicago Bears, while the New York Giants have more quarterback questions after a tough game at home. It is also tough times at the moment for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers

NFL Week 6 winners

Caleb Williams, quarterback, Chicago Bears. The Bears have their quarterback again, and suddenly everything looks right in the Windy City. Williams completed 30-of-36 passes for 303 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, and did not show much, if any, rust after missing the past few games.

Chuba Hubbard, running back, Carolina Panthers. Due to the Philadelphia Eagles injuries on offense, this should have been a winnable game for the Panthers, and they did everything they needed to do in a 25-14 win. They shut down Tanner McKee and controlled the game on the ground with Hubbard rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Jamel Dean, cornerback, Pittsburgh Steelers. After spending the past few years in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary, Dean had a personal revenge game on Sunday with six pass defenses and a game-changing interception late in the fourth quarter of the Steelers' 26-19 win.

Todd Monken, head coach, Cleveland Browns. It wasn't pretty on Sunday, and there hasn't been much pretty about the 4-2 record, but you can't take away the fact Todd Monken's Browns were supposed to be one of the league's worst teams, and he now has them on top of the AFC North with two huge divisional wins thanks to Sunday's walk-off win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Martin Emerson Jr., cornerback, New Orleans Saints. Monster day for the Saints cornerback with seven tackles, four pass defenses, a tackle for a loss and two interceptions as they picked up a much-needed come-from-behind 34-27 win against the Giants.

Josh Allen, quarterback, Buffalo Bills. Given how bad the Bills defense is, giving up 30 points seemingly every week, they are going to need Allen to put the offense and the team on his back. So far this season, he has been up to the task, and on Sunday had one of the craziest touchdown passes of the season in a 33-30 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Chad Ryland, kicker, Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals pulled off their second stunning upset of the season, knocking off the  Rams in an 18-16 game that did not feature a single Cardinals touchdown.

All of their scoring, including the game-winning field goal, came from Ryland as he went 6-for-6 on the day in field goals.

NFL Week 6 losers

Jameis Winston, quarterback, New York Giants. When Winston is playing well, he can be a ball of energy, put up big numbers and bring a spark to your offense. Over a full season with him, you get about eight of those games. The problem is you get about eight or nine games like Sunday where he turns into a turnover machine, gets benched and leaves his team with a quarterback dilemma.

Derrick Henry, running back, Baltimore Ravens. Henry is still a great player, but over the past couple of years, he has had some occasional fumble problems in big moments. It happened again on Sunday to help spark the Browns' come-from-behind win. As if the fumble wasn't bad enough, he also managed just 58 yards on 17 carries (only 3.4 yards per attempt).

Aaron Glenn, head coach, New York Jets. With their 26-19 loss to the New England Patriots, the Jets are just 2-4 this season and 5-18 in Glenn's first 23 games as head coach.

A concerning thing that happened on Sunday: Glenn did not seem to know the game situation going into halftime.

Maybe not a huge deal, but an eye-opening moment for a lack of awareness. When you are 5-18, that is going to draw more criticism than it might otherwise warrant.

Indianapolis Colts. Just a brutal showing at home to not only lose to a previously winless Tennessee Titans team but also allow 20 fourth-quarter points to one of the NFL's worst offenses. The defense is a mess, and quarterback Daniel Jones seems to be a half-season flash in the pan with the way he is playing so far.

Los Angeles football. The Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles both lost on Sunday, with the Rams dropping to last place in the NFC West with a shocking loss to the Cardinals, while the Chargers extended their winless streak to open the season to six games. The Chargers and Miami Dolphins (bye week this week) are the last winless team in the NFL.
