Colts have soul-searching to do after loss to Titans

The Indianapolis Colts may have had the worst loss of any NFL team on Sunday.

Indianapolis led the winless Tennessee Titans 13-0 at halftime, and it appeared that it was in line to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Week 5.

It was in fact the opposite that happened, though, and the Colts will have some serious soul-searching after an inexcusable 26-20 loss to the Titans.

Daniel Jones was horrendous in the second half

After throwing for 153 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the first half, Colts quarterback Daniel Jones was a major letdown in the second half.

In the final 30 minutes of game time, Jones threw for 113 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Jones missed several throws to open receivers, some of which ultimately led to points for the Tennessee offense after getting the ball back.

Overall, Jones completed just 22 of 42 passes, his second straight week with 20 incompletions. On the season, he now has just four touchdowns compared to six interceptions, something that is extremely concerning.

Despite the struggles, Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Jones is still the starting quarterback for Indianapolis moving forward.

Could Anthony Richardson be a possibility soon?

Even with Steichen confirming that Jones is still the starting quarterback, on-field results and production will ultimately determine how long that remains the case before a move is made.

If and when Steichen decides to make a move, it would be to the former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson. Richardson was drafted in 2023, and he's had quite the rocky career so far that ultimately led to seeking a trade out of Indianapolis. He is still there, though, and would be the one to replace Jones if he is benched.

Week 7 will be tough to navigate

Indianapolis has an incredibly tough game in Week 7 against a Minnesota Vikings defense that has been among the best in the NFL this season.

It will be intriguing to see how Jones performs against Minnesota and see how quickly Steichen would be to make the move to Richardson if the offense is struggling to get going.
