Amid the Los Angeles Kings worst start in franchise history (0-4-2) the team has received a positive injury update on forward Mats Zuccarello, who could return to the lineup on Tuesday.
Zuccarello has missed the last three games recovering from an undisclosed upper-body injury.
Head coach Peter Laviolette believes Zuccarello is a vital fixture that can help to turn things around.
“Definitely a guy that can come in and help with regards to the offensive part of the game,'' Laviolette said, via Zach Dooley.
Mats Zuccarello is “trending” towards playing tomorrow, per Peter Laviolette. He was a full participant in today’s practice. “Definitely a guy that can come in and help with regards to the offensive part of the game.”

The team has looked lost without their prime offensive catalyst whose high NHL IQ helps to bolster the scoring production.
The Kings are set to face the Washington Capitals Tuesday and would massively benefit from Zuccarello's return. The team has remained winless and could use an offensive boost from their key offensive forward.
Zuccarello's return will also provide elite playmaking as well as veteran stability from the a 16-year NHL veteran. With Kevin Fiala and Alex Turcotte also sidelined, having Zuccarello back will provide some optimism as the team awaits its two other core offensive players to return to prime health.
Zuccarello could also revitalize the power play for the Kings that currently ranks 26th in the NHL with a 14.3% power play percentage, with three goals on 21 opportunities.
As a power play quarterback, he has a knack for creating reliable scoring chances.
He has the ability to deliver clutch and precise passes while shedding off defenders. His sneaky and accurate wrist shot adds to his repertoire, making him an aggressive playmaker that should provide a significant boost to the struggling team.
When you look at the big picture, as a proven point-producer he's an offensive threat that can help to restore the team's anemic offense while also allowing bottom-six role players to slip back into their regular roles.
