The New York Knicks enter the 2026-27 season as reigning NBA champions for the first time in five decades.
Now, the question is whether or not they can repeat as NBA champions this season.
On Tuesday, they begin the regular season with a home game at Madison Square Garden against LeBron James and the new-look Philadelphia 76ers.
On Monday, Knicks coach Mike Brown gave a positive update, saying that everyone is healthy and nobody was held out of practice.

That update is significant, especially due to lingering questions surrounding NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, who battled a wrist issue this offseason.
It was expected that Brunson would be ready, and he played 28 minutes in the preseason finale in a 122-120 win over the Toronto Raptors.
The Knicks did see center Drew Eubanks suffer a torn pectoral muscle, so he will miss a large chunk of time, but other than that, everybody has the green light for the season opener.
The Knicks will get put to the test right away with a home game against the 76ers and then a road game on Friday against the Boston Celtics, who signed Mitchell Robinson this offseason after he helped New York win the title.
