Colts' Jonathan Taylor addresses trade rumors after firing of Chris Ballard

Days after Indianapolis Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon fired general manager Chris Ballard, Colts quarterback Daniel Jones insisted that he could not afford to think about his uncertain future and was instead focusing on preparing for this coming Sunday's game between the 2-4 Colts and 5-0 Minnesota Vikings at Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium.

Star running back Jonathan Taylor is among the Colts players who reportedly could be targeted by teams in need of help at the position before the NFL trade deadline arrives on Nov. 10. While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Taylor was asked about possibly having a new football home next month.

Jonathan Taylor hasn't yet given being traded "any thought"

"I haven’t given it any thought," Taylor said, as shared by Billy Heyen of Heavy. "That’d be crazy right now. Especially [since] we’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against. It would be a discredit, a disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be."

Multiple stories have mentioned the New York Giants as a potential landing spot for Taylor. ESPN's Bill Barnwell named the Vikings as a team that could look to acquire a proven RB1. Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals could also make a big running-back splash ahead of the trade deadline.

Jonathan Taylor encourages Colts to "fight"

"Right now it’s a Thursday," Taylor added. "...It’s not gonna get any easier. No one’s gonna feel sorry for us. Oh, our general manager is gone. No one’s gonna feel sorry for us. They’re gonna say, 'Let’s try to kick them while they’re down.' So we’ve gotta pull ourselves up, and we’ve gotta fight."

As of Thursday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Colts as 6.5-point road underdogs against the Vikings. If Sunday's game goes as some insiders are predicting and Indianapolis players don't put up much of a fight against an unbeaten Minnesota side, the AFC South club presumably could begin a fire sale as soon as next week.
