LeBron James got the full experience from the Philadelphia 76ers crowd in his first home game with the team. They got off to a miserable start against the Cleveland Cavaliers, going down by as much as 29 points in the first half.
Boos from the crowd rained down on the 76ers as the new collection of talent struggled to mesh. All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown had only four points on 2-of-8 shooting in the first half, while center Joel Embiid had nine points while shooting 3-of-10 from the field.
Then, the squad flipped the switch in the second half.
James gave Philadelphia a nice jump start with 10 points in the third quarter. The 76ers finally closed the gap and took the lead in the middle of the fourth quarter, prompting an eruption from the crowd.
James spoke about the atmosphere after the game, and he relished every bit of the experience.
“It was everything I dreamed of and more. We got the boos. That was amazing. We deserved it. And then we had the cheers, and almost blew the roof off,” said James

“It was everything that I dreamed of and more. We got the boos. That was amazing. We deserved it. And then we had the cheers, and almost blew the roof off this thing tonight — in a good way. It was a hell of a night.”
The improbable comeback was historic for LeBron and improved Philadelphia’s record to 2-0 and added another impressive win to the early-season tally. After taking down the Cavaliers 114-106 and beating the New York Knicks to open the season, the 76ers are looking like every bit of the contender they hoped to be.
The fans could have a lot to cheer about this season, and if they aren’t meeting expectations, James has no problems with being booed.
