The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and it's not just any game. These two teams are going up against each other in a historic showdown in Paris, France, at the Stade de France.
As the Steelers move ahead this season and look to improve upon their 4-2 record, they'll continue to rely on one offensive target, according to an NFL insider.
In a feature previewing the game, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shares "what we're hearing on the Steelers," and it has to do with a standout running back.
"Despite the return of running back Rico Dowdle from a toe injury, Jaylen Warren will remain a major factor in the Steelers' offense," Fowler states.
Dowdle was back for the team's Oct. 18 game, but he's listed as questionable for Sunday due to a knee injury. Even if he's available, Fowler suggests the team will continue to lean heavily on Warren.
"Players are sold on him as the alpha, and, as tight end Pat Freiermuth recently told me, great things happen when Warren gets the ball -- and he's going to get the ball a lot," Fowler adds of Warren. "The Steelers want to use two backs, though, because it's a long season and Dowdle complements Warren's burst with a bruising style. Expect that to continue, with a slant toward Warren."
That's quite a statement about the Steelers' plans and shows the trust they have in Warren. Expect to see more of him on the field, not only this Sunday but throughout the season.
