Philadelphia 76ers forward Jaylen Brown seemed to be shocked when he was traded from the Boston Celtics in the summer. He expressed his unwavering love for the city of Boston, but there were clearly some fractured relationships within the organization.
Brown’s former teammate, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, recently spoke about his reaction and the depth of his knowledge about the trade. He claimed he was just as surprised as the rest of the world, but the former NBA Finals MVP disagreed, claiming that Tatum was lying under a social media post.
The Celtics star was asked about the interaction after the team’s last game against the New York Knicks, and he made it clear there is no hatred between him and Brown. But after Philadelphia’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, the night of Brown’s 30th birthday, he reignited the flames when asked about Tatum’s comments.
“There’s no beef, but it might be a little lamb chops and some gravy,” Brown said.
After a Sixers win on his 30th birthday, Jaylen Brown gave quite a batch of quotes about Jayson Tatum, allegedly the beneficiary of a "great PR team."

He praised his former teammate’s game and spoke with appreciation for the things they accomplished together. However, he was asked if he was willing to have a conversation with Tatum, but he danced around the actual question and never agreed to it.
Although there doesn’t appear to be any deep resentment between Brown and Tatum, there certainly seem to be cracks in their relationship. Maybe they never had any disputes with each other, but it doesn’t sound like they had the same tight-knit friendship that most superstar duos do.
The 76ers and Celtics already have one of the most storied rivalries in NBA history. It will only get more entertaining with the added drama arising from Brown and Tatum.
