Walt Frazier drew the ire of basketball fans over comments he made after Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs suffered an apparent knee injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y.

Suggs was trying to finish at the rim on a breakaway when he suddenly went down, immediately grabbing his right knee.

Frazier, who was calling the game with Mike Breen, questioned Suggs’ move despite the guard being in obvious pain.

“What was he thinking?” the Knicks legend said.

As the replay was shown, Frazier also commented on what he saw as a violation by Suggs, which some fans found insensitive, given the situation.

Here are other comments from the fans online.

Suggs was later helped off the court, as the Magic went on to defeat the reigning NBA champions Knicks, 111-102.

The former Gonzaga Bulldogs star point guard had four points on 2/8 shooting with six rebounds, six assists and three steals in 34 minutes of action, while Franz Wagner paced Orlando with 23 points to go with 13 rebounds.

The Knicks, on the other hand, remain winless in the 2026-27 season with a 0-3 record.

The full extent of Suggs’ injury has yet to be announced.
