Just a few days after losing star Paolo Banchero for at least four to six weeks, the Orlando Magic thought they might have lost their point guard, Jalen Suggs, for a lengthy amount of time as well.
Suggs went down Sunday with what appeared to be a serious knee injury. The full extent of his injury was announced Monday, and it was a best-case scenario for Orlando.
According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Suggs has been diagnosed with a mild bone bruise in his right knee. He will be out for at least two weeks before being re-evaluated.
Suggs avoided major structural damage, something that looked like it could've certainly been possible when he went down Sunday. While the injury wasn't as serious as it initially looked, the loss of both Banchero and Suggs for multiple weeks will likely make for a difficult stretch of games for Orlando.

NOT what the Magic needed. Jalen Suggs goes down clutching his right knee going up for a layup without contact. @DanteMagic and Jeff Turner were right on it to not speculate the injury. But not good for the Magic who have terrible injury luck pic.twitter.com/dGyAB6D7Cd

Without two of its top-scoring options, Orlando will now turn to Franz Wagner to lead the offense. Wagner shined in Sunday's win over the New York Knicks, posting 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
Shooting guard Desmond Bane will also see more volume in shot attempts without Banchero and Suggs. Bane has struggled in the first few games of the season (15 PPG, 28.6 percent 3PT), something that will need to change if the Magic hope to play well without two of their top players.
Orlando will need others to contribute around Wagner and Bane if it hopes to stay afloat without Banchero and Suggs and aim for a fourth playoff appearance in as many seasons.
