Pat McAfee blasts Utah for 'unsafe' and 'uncomfortable' 'College GameDay' experience

Over the course of the past few years, former NFL punter Pat McAfee has become a focal point of ESPN programming.

Whether it be his daily show or his inclusion on "College GameDay," McAfee has become a recurring face for the worldwide leader in sports.

The usually lighthearted and entertaining McAfee took a couple of minutes during his show Monday to discuss what he described as an "unsafe" and "uncomfortable" experience Saturday at the University of Utah.

Pat McAfee had an awful experience at Utah on Saturday

"College GameDay" was at Saturday's Big 12 showdown between Texas Tech and Utah. Long before the late-night kickoff, McAfee talked about his experience at the university, and it wasn't a good one.

McAfee said that just before "College GameDay" went live Saturday morning, he saw a social media post directly from the official University of Utah account in which students were describing him as "corny" and "creepy."

McAfee revealed that the video being posted from the university's official account made him feel weird and uncomfortable in front of the large crowd that was set up for "GameDay."

“It’s an uncomfortable feeling… I’m getting a lot of shrapnel from a lot of places. The university is putting this out. That is something I just had never experienced really in my entire life. So, it kind of set me off a little bit. It made me feel a little bit weird, I would say. Made me feel a little bit weird.”

McAfee made multiple references to Charlie Kirk's death that took place at Utah Valley University, just 40 miles away from Salt Lake City. He also stated he felt some type of way about his "Kicking Is Easy Contest" participant feeling disrespected by the $1 million prize for her kick after the BYU kick last week was $3 million.

Pat McAfee won't be returning to Utah anytime soon

Many noticed that McAfee made the comment, "Thank you guys, I'll never see you again, hopefully," at the conclusion of "College GameDay."

It wasn't clear if those comments were sincere or McAfee being his usual funny and jokester self. It now appears that the comments were 100% sincere and described exactly the way he felt about his experience in Utah.

McAfee jokingly closed his Utah segment by saying he'd come down with COVID the next time "College GameDay" returns to Utah. It's safe to say that McAfee won't be rushing to get back to Utah anytime in the near future.
