NFL GM reveals Raiders' purported asking price for Maxx Crosby as trade deadline nears

A Tuesday update revealed that "talks" regarding Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby "have lost a little bit of steam" ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline.

Perhaps the Raiders' alleged asking price for Crosby is one reason that's the case.

Raiders' asking price for Maxx Crosby hasn't changed since March?

Back in March, the Raiders accepted two first-round draft picks from the Baltimore Ravens for Crosby before Baltimore backed out of that trade due to concerns related to the meniscus repair he needed following the 2025 season. For a Casino.org piece published on Wednesday, NFL insider Jason La Canfora spoke with an unnamed general manager who believes the Raiders' asking price for Crosby hasn't changed.

"They set the price already, really, didn’t they? They had two ones (two first-round picks) from (Ravens GM Eric DeCosta). So you can’t really act like he’s not available now," the general manager told La Canfora. "I don’t think they take less than that. I’m not sure someone offers that; that was a reach by Baltimore … But he’s still a dominant player. The knee isn’t holding him back."

Why Raiders may hold onto Maxx Crosby through the trade deadline

This past Monday, first-year Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak explained that one reason he was keeping veteran Kirk Cousins the club's starting quarterback over rookie Fernando Mendoza is that 3-4 Las Vegas is still "in the hunt" for a playoff berth. The Raiders next play at the 2-5 New York Jets this coming Sunday.

"The schedule is lightening up, with the lowly Jets up next," La Canfora wrote about a Raiders side that is in the middle of a four-game losing streak. "For a team struggling to establish a home-field advantage with Vegas being a Mecca for visiting fans, wins matter. Getting players to believe the city is behind them matters too."

Such lines could lead one to believe that the Raiders may not sell any proven commodity ahead of the trade deadline. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have been linked with Crosby since this past winter. That said, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones shared as recently as Tuesday that it's "unlikely" he will make a blockbuster trade before the deadline.

For what it's worth, "a longtime NFL personnel executive who has watched Crosby’s 2026 film and who knows several people around the league who are mulling making a bid for Crosby" told La Canfora he doesn't envision the Raiders getting two first-round draft picks for the 29-year-old this fall. Thus, it continues to sound like Crosby will end this season as a Las Vegas player.
