The Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series for the first time in franchise history with a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field.
The Brewers not only won the game with a 4-1 score, but the World Series ended with Milwaukee winning four games to one.
The Brewers lost just two games in the entire postseason. One came against the San Diego Padres in the NLDS, and the other came in Game 4 of the World Series in a 12-inning contest on Tuesday night.
After the World Series came to an end, Rays star pitcher Drew Rasmussen - who started Game 5 - dropped massive praise for the Brewers.
"I said this a couple of times to the guys in here: that's the best team I've played at the Major League level," Rasmussen said, via Aileen Hnatiuk of WFLA News.
The Brewers finished the regular season with a 103-59 record, the best in MLB. They even swept the back-to-back World Series winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the NLCS to punch their ticket to the World Series.
Rasmussen made his MLB debut with the Brewers in 2020, but he has been with the Rays since 2021 and has become a key piece of the starting rotation.
The Brewers are now popping champagne and celebrating the World Series, and the Rays will look ahead to next season.
