Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers accomplished the impossible on Sunday in a win over the Atlanta Falcons.

The Buccaneers defeated the Falcons 16-0 on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., and they did so without completing a single pass. Mayfield went 0/3 with 0 yards and ran out a winner anyway.

This was the first time an NFL team won a game without a single completed pass since the Buffalo Bills beat the New York Jets in such fashion on Sept. 29, 1974.

The primary reason for the lack of a pass game was the weather in Tampa, which was rainy and muddy. Mayfield attempted two passes in the first quarter and one more on the first drive of the third quarter, but otherwise, the team had little choice but to shelve the pass game.

The football itself was so wet that Mayfield fumbled several times, including instances like this, when he recovered his own fumble and salvaged five yards out of it.

The Falcons also found out the hard way how tough the conditions were. Michael Penix Jr. completed just eight passes and threw four interceptions, though they only directly led to six Tampa Bay points.

Mayfield returned from a thumb injury last week and only needed to attempt 11 passes in a win over Carolina. He has barely thrown it at all since his return, but the Bucs have won both games anyway.
