Lions' Dan Campbell, Aidan Hutchinson react to Jack Campbell being hospitalized

Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of a 19-15 home win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8.

One-time Pro Bowler Campbell suffered the injury while tackling Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. He lay on the field motionless for several minutes before being carted off.

The Lions said Campbell was taken to a local hospital, where he is being evaluated for a neck injury. Head coach Dan Campbell opened his postgame news conference with a statement on the LB.

"Thoughts and prayers are with Jack and his family," Campbell said. "He's being taken care of. We don't have any new information. We'll keep you updated as this goes. But we're thinking about him."

The Lions forced a turnover on downs after Campbell suffered his injury. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who was in tears while watching the LB leave on the cart, said they were doing it for their teammate.

"Jack is such a ball guy, and I know that he wouldn't have wanted anything else than to lock back into this game, finish it and get a dub," Hutchinson said.

The Lions are 5-2 heading into their Week 9 road matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The team will continue to think about Campbell and wish him the best heading into that contest.

"We just turned it up a notch for our brother," wide receiver Jameson Williams said. "He goes out there and puts it on the line every single play for us. That's why he's got the C [captain emblem] on his chest. We're praying for him."
