Luka Doncic will not have to report to detention just yet.

The NBA announced on Tuesday that it is rescinding a technical foul that was assessed to the Los Angeles Lakers star Doncic the night before. The NBA made the decision upon a retroactive league office review.

Doncic was hit with a technical foul during Monday night’s win over the Miami Heat. In the second quarter at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, Doncic clapped at referee Jacyn Goble (No. 68) after a no-call and was hit with the T.

Here is the video of the incident.

Doncic is regularly among the NBA’s leaders in technical fouls and was even automatically suspended for one game last season after accumulating 16 Ts. Thus, it looks like Doncic’s reputation might have preceded him there (even if the “offense” was really nothing).

The six-time All-Star Doncic looks like an early frontrunner for MVP this season, posting a monster 38.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game to lead the Lakers to an impressive 5-2 start. Now Doncic also gets the benefit of not having to pay a $2,000 fine for the now-rescinded technical that was given to him by Goble in Monday’s game.
