The New York Giants have certainly liked what they've seen from cornerback Greg Newsome II so far this season.
They've liked it enough that they've decided to push their chips all-in with the seventh-year cornerback.
According to reports, the Giants and Newsome have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $46 million.
Newsome was acquired by the Giants after the Jacksonville Jaguars let him hit the open market as a free agent. He was originally signed by New York to a one-year, $8 million "prove it" contract.

The former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns has proved that he still has "it" and more. In six games, he's notched 25 tackles, six passes defended and one interception. He's also allowed just 15 receptions, per Pro Football Focus, which ranks him No. 36 among all corners in the NFL.
That's not bad for a 26-year-old cornerback on his third NFL team. Newsome has played a big role in the Giants' 4-2-1 record and the team's top spot in the NFC East.
Newsome was picked No. 26 in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Northwestern. Although he's never been a Pro Bowler or All-Pro, he has consistently been thought of as one of the more solid cornerbacks in the league — especially during his time with the Browns.
Newsome has five career interceptions.
