RFK Racing looked in-house for a replacement for outgoing driver and team co-owner Brad Keselowski.
The organization announced Wednesday that Ryan Preece, who currently drives RFK's No. 60 Ford, will take over the No. 6 that will be left vacant by Keselowski following Sunday's season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Crew chief Derrick Finley will follow Preece, who has driven for RFK since the start of 2025. The charter for Preece's No. 60 is returning to LEGACY Motor Club in 2027 and has been leased by RFK from Rick Ware Racing.
Keselowski's departure came after the shocking news in October that he will no longer be involved in a leadership or ownership role with RFK, instead remaining as a "passive investor". His driving plans for 2027 are currently unknown.
Preece, a 36-year-old from Berlin, Conn., has 258 NASCAR Cup Series starts to his name, 71 of which have come with RFK. In those 71 starts, Preece has four top fives and 24 top 10s. He scored his first career Cup win at Daytona in August, which also vaulted him into the Cup Series postseason for the first time.
"To be trusted with the 6 means more to me than I can put into words," Preece said in a team release. "When you think about what this number means to RFK Racing, you think about Jack Roush, Mark Martin and everything they built together. To know this team believes I'm the right person to carry that number into the future is incredibly humbling."
Preece will race alongside Chris Buescher at RFK in 2027.
