Zay Flowers offers a telling response about Lamar Jackson’s future with the Ravens

Lamar Jackson is not expected to play another game in the 2026 NFL season after suffering a hand injury in the Baltimore Ravens’ 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Some believe that Jackson had also already played his last game with the Ravens.

As far as Baltimore wide receiver Zay Flowers is concerned, he is not in a position to say whether the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player will still be wearing a Ravens uniform in 2027.

“I would like to, but that’s not really nothing I can come in on,” Flowers said when asked if he expects Jackson to still be a Raven beyond the 2026 campaign, via Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun.

That’s nothing I can really control in my situation, you know what I mean? So that’s something I can’t really come in on for you.”

Jackson is approaching the final year of his contract and has a massive $84.8 million cap number in 2027. That’s not even accounting for the fact that his deal includes no-trade and no-tag clauses. Jackson’s injury only adds another layer of uncertainty to his future with the only NFL team he’s ever played for.

For now, the Ravens will have to find a way to survive without Jackson, as they enter Week 9 of the season last in the AFC North standings with a 4-4 record.
