Dillon Brooks was at it again this week.
The Phoenix Suns swingman Brooks was at the center of another heated episode during Wednesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers. In the third quarter at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Ariz., Brooks committed a turnover by stepping on out of bounds as he was about to take a shot.
Brooks took the shot after the whistle anyway and kicked his leg out with Lillard having been in the area to defend. Ultimately, Brooks ended up making contact with Lillard’s lower left leg, leading to Lillard becoming irate and getting up into Brooks’ face.
Video of the incident showed that Brooks appeared to have stepped on Lillard’s left Achilles area specifically. Take a look.

The left Achilles is the same one that Lillard tore in the 2025 playoffs when he was still a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Lillard missed the entire 2025-26 season as a result and was appearing in just his seventh game since the injury on Wednesday.
As for Brooks, he is known as one of the NBA’s most notorious irritants and instigators. Earlier this week, Brooks was also involved in a mid-game altercation with Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green ( which ended up with Green getting ejected).
