The Atlanta Braves are welcoming back a familiar face.
Several reporters confirmed Thursday that former Los Angeles Angels general manager Perry Minasian is taking a role in the Braves’ front office. According to The Athletic’s Jesus Cano, Minasian will serve as a senior adviser to amateur scouting and “will be working closely” with Braves vice president of amateur scouting Ronit Shah.
Minasian served as the Angels’ general manager from 2021 until his firing midway through the 2026 season. The Angels never made the playoffs, nor did they ever finish with a winning record in any season during Minasian’s tenure.
The 46-year-old executive returns to the Braves organization, where he served as the vice president of baseball operations from 2018 to 2020 under current GM Alex Anthopoulos. The Braves won the NL East in each of those three seasons with Minasian part of the team’s braintrust.
The Braves are also bringing back Dana Brown in the same role as Minasian. Brown left his position as Houston Astros GM last season in what was a mutual parting of ways. Brown was the vice president of scouting under Anthopoulos from 2019 to 2022.
The Braves are bringing the old band back together. Whether the band can play some championship music again remains to be seen.
