Two New York Yankees All-Stars were apparently having some problems with each other last season.
Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge had to “sternly” tell teammate Jazz Chisholm Jr. to knock off certain behaviors during the 2026 campaign that he felt crossed the line, Randy Miller of NJ.com reported this week. However, that reportedly did not stop Chisholm from continuing to act up throughout the Yankees’ season.
Chisholm, the 28-year-old former MLB All-Star, indeed made multiple negative headlines over the course of the year. Among other incidents, Chisholm was seen sucking on a lollipop while in the field during a game and also managed to get himself ejected for berating an umpire over a call.
As for Judge, 34, he is the Yankees’ captain and has been with the team for his entire MLB career since 2016. Thus, it is Judge’s job to an extent to call out unprofessional behavior by his teammates whenever he sees it.
Still, we recently learned that Judge himself was actually causing some internal frustrations with Yankees executives. Now it appears that friction with teammates has also been an issue for the former AL MVP Judge.
Chisholm is a free agent this offseason and might not be back with the Yankees in 2027. But even if New York decides to remove Chisholm from the equation, there may still be plenty of dysfunction left to go around.
