The New York Jets will be facing an uphill battle Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sunday's game against the Chiefs would've been tough even if New York were at full health, but the latest injury update surrounding star receiver Garrett Wilson revealed that won't be the case.
According to head coach Aaron Glenn, Wilson has been ruled out for Week 9 with a concussion he suffered in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Wilson's absence is a significant blow to a Jets offense that has heavily relied on his playmaking ability. It will now leave quarterback Geno Smith without one of his top targets ahead of a tough matchup.
Not only will Wilson's injury take a toll on New York's offense Sunday, but it also may affect the small possibility that existed of Wilson being traded ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

Wilson is far and away the Jets' leader in both receptions and yards, meaning someone else is going to have to step up in his absence.
Whether that be rookies Omar Cooper and Kenyon Sadiq or third-year speedster Adonai Mitchell, somebody will need to take a bigger role in the offense if New York hopes to play a competitive game with Kansas City.
A loss for the Jets on Sunday would only enhance the current trade rumors, meaning Wilson's health heading into Week 10 won't be the only thing that Jets fans are monitoring.
While he did just recently sign a major four-year, $130 million extension, Wilson has expressed some frustration at times this season. It's unlikely that New York will move its star receiver, but only time will tell what the final decision is.
