The World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo, affectionately known as the Daddy of Em' All, is just around the corner. Held annually in Cheyenne, Wyo., the Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) are steeped in history and tradition. CFD has received the PRCA's Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year award 16 times.
The 128th annual Frontier Days will be held July 19 - 24. Since 1897, Cheyenne has been a must-stop for rodeo athletes and fans alike. There is something for everyone from the rodeo action, concert lineup, shopping, and more! We are here to guide you through all the fun. You don't want to miss it.
There are nine days of action packed tournament style rodeo. Cheyenne is unique because of the big arena, long score, fresh timed event stock, and special acts. In addition to the traditional rodeo events seen at all PRCA rodeos, the Daddy is known for their wild horse races as well.
The rodeo guarantees attendees witness an unparalleled amount of rodeo excitement where world champions and the best in the business will compete for big money prizes and the covenant title of CFD Champion. Getting the chance to compete at the Daddy is a bucket list item for any rodeo athlete and up and comer.
Before the main week of rodeo performances begins, fans are welcomed to attend the slack qualifying rounds. These morning Timed Event Qualifiers feature the same professional cowboys and cowgirls in a more relaxed atmosphere. The competition is open to the public at no cost, with all rides contributing to each participant's cumulative time for the week. There is no additional entertainment—just straightforward rodeo action in a casual setting.
For the die hard bull riding fans, the PBR Last Man Standing Event returns to Cheyenne this year as well July 22 -23 at 7:45 p.m. both nights.
The PRCA rodeo performances take place everyday, July 20-28 at 1 p.m. The championship round is held on Sunday where it is a clean slate and all qualified contestants give it their all to go for gold.
