Adidas Skateboarding recently did some archive digging and brought back some throwback apparel items to create their new Classics Collection.

The collection is inspired by sport, but reimagined for the wear and tear that comes with skateboarding, with Nikolai Piombo helping steer the ship. Get a closer look at some of the gear below.

"The archive-inspired loose-fit Pintuck Pant, the reimagined Teamgeist Jersey, and the light weight Classic Short are sport reinterpreted for skate at its finest," adidas mentions on Instagram.

Now, I know this collection might not be for everyone, but more and more skateboarders seem to be doing a little archive digging themselves lately. We saw the big surge of 'Big Boy' pants and classic 90s fits the last few years (shoot, I was worried JNCO was going to make a return), but it seems like we're starting to dip into the early 00s now.

Nikolai has been running this style for a minute, and I can't help but feel like I'm watching an old 411VM every time I watch him skate—and I mean that in the best way possible. But I won't be surprised if we start to see more skateboarders dressing similar in the years ahead.

The skateboarding world is no stranger to looking to the past for inspiration. I mean, if you're in your thirties or older and don't constantly reference the past as "the good old days" did you even experience a golden era of skateboarding for yourself? Exactly.

And although sometimes old photos of us and our often debatable style choices can be a little mortifying to revisit at times, nostalgia still always finds a way to win. Admittedly, sometimes we just want stuff strictly for that reason—nostalgia. You know... the good old days.

At any rate, if any brand out there is going to inspire this style, it's adidas. So even though you won't see me rocking any of these items, I'm still backing it. Look for the collection at your local shop and then go throw on your old favorite hip hop album. Puffy pants, jerseys, puffy shoes... it's happening!
