Paul Rodriguez took to Instagram recently to announce Aimu Yamazuki’s official spot on the Primitive Skateboards team. Long overdue if you ask me, but Paul’s message made the wait worth it.

Hot on the heels of the announcement, Primitive dropped a ripping mini part from Aimu that demands a watch. It clocks in under a minute, but every single clip hits—Aimu didn’t waste a second. The future looks bright, but for now, press play.

Aimu has been turning heads for a while now, and it seems like every time he steps on his board he's only getting better. The dude is extremely talented, to say the least. Next level stuff. Now that he's officially on the Primitive team, I can't even imagine what he's gonna hit us with. The hype is real and Aimu is clearly on a mission. Love to see it.

As mentioned, P-Rod took to Instagram with a heartfelt message officially adding Aimu to the team, check it below:

“I first came across Aimu on Instagram’s Explore page. He had posted a little line that opened with a kickflip, and it was one of the most amazing flatground kickflips I had ever seen. I went straight down the rabbit hole watching all his videos. Instantly, I became a fan. His pop, his power, his board control, his finesse, and the way he stays calm on the board—it’s just really beautiful to watch him skate.

At Primitive, we have always built our team around three eras: honoring the past, representing the present, and pushing the future. I take pride in helping carry that mission forward by supporting the next generation of skaters who are laying the foundation for where skateboarding is headed. After watching Aimu skate—and later getting the chance to meet and skate with him myself—I knew right away he was going to be an important part of that future, carrying the torch not just for Primitive but for skateboarding as a whole.

I am honored to officially welcome Aimu Yamazuki to the Primitive Skate family.”

Something tells me we’ll be seeing Aimu’s name on the bottom of a board sooner than later, but with a brand like Primitive, you really need to earn it. No rush, Aimu! Keep your foot on the gas—we see you.
